Dartmouth alumni of the South Florida area held their annual dinner meeting at the Ft. Lauderdale Yacht Club, Saturday evening, April 30, and elected Milton Patterson '3O, president, and Charles Garnsey '2O, secretary, for the coming year. Arrangements were in the capable hands of George Loehr '2O and the party was one of the most successful in the short history of this thriving outpost of the Big Green.

Milt Patterson is an executive with Pan American World Airways and has been one of the wheelhorses of the South Florida group since it was officially organized a year ago. Chuck Garnsey has been in the electrical business all his life, so it is to be anticipated that he will prove a real live wire in the allimportant job of secretary of the organization.

George Loehr couldn't have picked a better setting for the dinner than the Ft. Lauderdale Yacht Club. And he added to it with decorations in the proper green motif, and had on hand an instrumental and vocal trio who had been well rehearsed in some of the favorite Dartmouth songs. Speeches were at a minimum during the evening, but the guys and gals thoroughly enjoyed a Pan Am clipper motion picture—depicting scenes in the nearby Caribbean—run off through the cooperation of Norm Brandt '4l and Al Bisson '42, two of said airline's dependables.

Bob Pierce '25 and Line Daniels '34 were accepting hearty congratulations on the job they did in guiding the club through its first year of activity, and Bob on assuming his duties as an Alumni Councilor, the first from the state of Florida. Dick Plumer 'l2, retiring chairman of the Admissions and Schools Committee, reported that four applicants from the Greater Miami area had just been accepted for fall entry at Hanover, and predicted even greater numbers in the years ahead.

Oldest alumnus present—but only in point of years—was Bob Bitmap '94.. John Cook 39 from host Ft. Lauderdale, did a good job in leading the gang in songs. It was announced that regular monthly luncheons would be continued through the summer, at the Seven Seas restaurant in Miami, on the first Wednesday of each month. Visiting firemen are cordially invited.

In addition to President Patterson and Secretary Garnsey, the following were elected: Vice Presidents—Richard C. Plumer 'l2 of North Miami, Gus Broberg '4l of West Palm Beach, and George M. Loehr '2O of Ft. Lauderdale. On the executive committee—J. Weston Dunaway '43, Lincoln Daniels '34, and George M. Boughton '2B, Del Ray. As committee chairmen—Admissions and Schools, Chas. F. Kehoe Jr. '34; Hopkins Center, Bob Burnap '94 and Col. Henry Teague '00; Vocational, W. Kent Lownsberry '18; Scholarship, Geo. E. Patterson Jr. '39; Program, Norman Brandt '4l; Luncheon, Lawrence G.
