On Monday, September 11, approximately seventy-five alumni, members of the entering class and their dads gathered for luncheon in the William Penn Room of Gimbel Brothers in Philadelphia. It gave the Philade.phia alumni a great deal of pleasure to say hello to the twenty-seven new men of Dartmouth from this area; and a good-looking group it is! Club president, Parker Soule '31 toastmastered the luncheon; while BurtFlounders '52 gave the young men some of the pertinent facts concerning life in Hanover and the probable behavior of the upper classmen toward the pea-green freshmen. The luncheon was concluded by a showing of the excellent new sound-color film, DARTMOUTH OUTDOORS. Everyone present was thrilled by this splendid production. The following were present;

One of the first Philadelphia alumni whom we have learned was called back into active Federal service is Bill Cook '49. Bill, who was a night fighter pilot in World War 11, received his orders from the Marine Corps in early September.
