The big event of September was the fi'm fund-raising party at the home of "Buster"and "Margie" May, '36. Our host and hostess, assisted by Doug Leresche '43 and GerryPeterson '43 graciously entertained the freshmen, the undergraduates, alumni, wives, and friends at their attractive and interesting modern home in Ladue.
The three days before the party dampened our spirits and the Indians of St. Louis were suffering from cloud-phobia. But the sun favored us at the last minute by shining down and giving us a clear day for our fun.
Margie and Buster's estate afforded us swimming, baseball, relaxing, appreciation of modern art, and enjoying a delicious barbeque dinner on the terrace. Howie Mullin '24 starred as he stole two bases and argued at every decision of our one-eyed umpire. Everyone p'ayed: the entering freshmen, JohnFairfield, Bob Mollenaur, Ross Tucker, BenGilson, Ray Wolff, Bob Wheeler, and EddieRow'and, as well as the aging stars of some time ago.
After the plentirul dinner the group enjoyed good fellowship and showing of the film "Dartmouth Outdoors." When the group went home there was a feeling that this was one of the best parties we had ever had. Thanks are hereby publicly acknowledged to Margie and Buster May for their kindness and hospitality.
Tom Curtis '32 is making a real race for the seat in Congress from the Twelfth Congressional District. Ted Thompson '33, MartyKerwin '33, Bill Rench '34, and Bob Turner '33 are helping with the campaign.
"Doc" Bill Curtis '36, ex-member of our group, and now living in Denver, has been in town for the Radiologists' Convention, and has brought us news of Denver friends.
Russ Fette '39 has plans under way for the Glee Club visit in April. Every Thursday new ideas and promotional schemes are the talk of the luncheons.
Joe Logan '42 handed out cigars to honor a baby girl, born September 7. The Logans have a boy almost two years old, so everyone is happy.
Norm Probstein '43, midwest Skouras pro- moter, was in town for the party at Buster May's, and he finally promoted a date.
Harry Deckert '35 is busy each weekend this fall with officiating jobs for college foot- ball games. Great going, Harry.
Dick Hays '33 recently moved to St. Louis with his family.
We were very sorry to learn of the recent death of Frank Trowbridge Hogdon '96, of Hannibal, Mo., who has been president of the Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust Company. Mr. Hogdon has been very active in Dartmouth affairs and he always attended most of our annual meetings in St. Louis.
