We are getting news quite frequently of classmates who are planning their vacation around Reunion and bringing their wives and children—for whom complete plans are being made.
In The N. Y. Times in December was a picture of Matt Jones, a. banker for over two decades, who has been made a Vice President of the Lafayette National Bank of Brooklyn. Matt broke in with the Title Guarantee & Trust Cs. and later was a V.P. of the Lawyer's Trust Co.
Our Alumni Councilors include Bud Petrequin, Northern Ohio; Bob Pierce, Southeastern States and George Winger, W. Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Among those playing key roles as committee chairmen interviewing prospective freshmen are FredDold, Buck Jones, Mac Shepard, Bill McNulty, Eddie Pease, Bob Smith, Hans Thayer and Perk Fitch.
Another of Dick Cotton's publications has arrived at Hanover along with this notation: "Mr. Colton has received a Certificate of Award from the Associated Traffic Clubs of America in recognition of distinguished service in the development and promotion of education in the field of transportation and traffic management."
Lyle McKown headed the Minneapolis Civic Council in 1948-49. Recent modelling of the Dartmouth Scarf (and use of same as major prize) at the huge winter sports fashion show, Palace Hotel, San Francisco, was the work of Bill Simms, now ad-managing Fortnight. Bill is a Californian of less than a year, but being in touch with his editorial department is already a source of valuable knowledge re California sports and politics.
Bob Caufield of Wise, Corlett and Caufield, N. Y. attorneys, did not seek reelection to the School Board in Port Washington under pressure of business.
Connie Conrad's pleas for a Round Up editor fell on the able shoulders of Dr. HerbTalbot from whom you will hear from time to time.
