Since the last writing we have had our annual Christmas cocktail party and our holiday luncheon for undergraduates. Ross McKenney, Dartmouth's outdoor technician, helped out at the undergraduate affair with his impersonations of his old French-Canadian pal, "Baptiste," and his tall stories, followed by some of the most interesting anecdotes about the forest we have ever heard.
Another Dartmouth activity of special interest to lawyers is the organization of the Dartmouth Lawyers in Chicago. Don MacKay '2O arranged our first meeting held on December 29. We took advantage of Ross McKenney's presence in Chicago to take us back to the laymen's glorious world after being led through the intricate developments of federal estate tax law by Frederick R. Shearer, a tax specialist from the law office of Frank Mayer '20, Mr. Shearer presented the legal subject expertly. Joe Larimer '16 was elected chairman.
We were glad to see Stan Eaton '11, now of Staunton, Va., at our undergraduate luncheon.
