DARTMOUTH MENLUNCHEON EVERY MONDAY NOONUNIVERSITY CLUB, CHICAGO

An effort is generally made in this column to include names of those who appear less frequently at our functions. This installment is devoted to the stalwarts who are almost always on hand, rain or shine, whenever Dartmouth is concerned in these parts.

Principal among these sturdy sons are the following: Bill Juergens '23, erstwhile bachelor and State Street jeweler, who is prominent among the regulars. Bill Embree '21 and brother Hank Embree '30, who operate a lumber business in their spare time, have devoted a good portion of their lives to the interests of Dartmouth including the varied activities of our Association; Don MacKay '20, lawyer and husband of the newspaper columnist Ruth MacKay; Gene Hotchkiss '22, AI Louer '26, Roger C. Wilde '21, Justin Stanley '33, Bob Critchell '33, Lyn Shollenberger '33, PopNairne '36, Dick Montgomery '35, FrankWright '35, John Wright '32, George Lyon '25, Connor B. Shaw '43, Gordy Hinners '45, HalClarke '17, B. H. Hallin '24, Bob Woodcock '33 and Dick Babcock '40.

Most of these men leave busy offices each Monday noon to attend the regular weekly luncheons, to plan and arrange for things to keep Dartmouth ever alive among the local alumni body. This is not to belittle the in- terest of the countless other members who for various reasons are generally unable to attend the luncheons but whose loyalty and devotion is expressed in other ways.

Our new officers for the coming year, whose terms begin April 1, 1949. are the following: President, George R. Lyon 25; Vice President, Connor B. Shaw Jr. '43; Secretary, Robert McClory '30; Treasurer, Robert L. WoodcockJr. '33.

Bob Borwell '25 has been nominated by this Association for another term as Alumni Councilor from District III.

Out-of-towners who have visited with us recently include Ted Baehr '29 from somewhere in california and Bill Meyer '41 of Milwaukee who soon graduates from Chicago Osteopathic College and plans to establish a practice in the old home town.

We are working frantically these days in preparation for the Glee Club Concert to take place at the Drake Hotel Tuesday, April 5. The concert will be combined with a dance as was done last year and promises to be a big affair. Bunny Coffin, wife of Frank S. Coffin'24, is heading up a woman's committee to help Lyn Shollenberger who is in charge of arrangements.

We will let you know how it all turns out in next month's issue.

A COOL MIAMI EVENING on the terrace of the Robert Clay Hotel is the setting for the February 19 meeting of the Southern Florida Club. Relaxing at the speaker's table are (I. to r.) George Loehr 20, Mrs. Boughton, George Boughton '2B, Bob Burnap '94, Clark Tobin 'lO, President Robert Pierce 25, Mrs. W. Earle (widow of William P. '9O), Mrs. R. W.
