Two Faculty Deaths

February 9 brought a double loss to the Dartmouth faculty and community when Dr. Howard N. Kingsford '98m, Medical Director Emeritus, and Charles E. Wilder, Professor of Mathematics, both died on that day.

Professor Wilder, on leave since May 1948 because of illness, passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Togus, Maine. He had been a member of the Dartmouth faculty since 1922. "Doc" Kingsford, associated with Dartmouth for more than 50 years and known to thousands of alumni, died at Dick's House after an extended illness. He had held emeritus rank since his retirement in 1941.
