Many thanks to Ed Studwell for pinch-hitting for this column last month. While in Hanover it was pleasant to see so many old friends again. Dr. Ralph Hunter was a real stand-by. I only wish that circumstances and time might have allowed seeing Ed Gruen, Went Eldridge,Howie Mason and others of the class.
The latest news seems to be that Bill Phinney is resigning as District Attorney of New Hampshire as of June 1 to resume his private law practice. Bill has done an outstanding job. In accepting his resignation Governor Adams said: "I venture to predict that your record will be signalized for a good many years as of the highest order and in the highest ideals of service."
Whenever a roster of Dartmouth men in any section of the country is sent to the secretaries, it is always interesting to check the class lists; '31 is well represented in Northern California and Nevada with the following: Dick Baldwin,Bob Baumrucker, Dave Bender, Gordon Clifford,Howie Holman, Art Flyman, Jim Kimball,Art Lull, Brant McCullough and NickOleksiw. The weekly luncheons are held at St. Julien's, 140 Battery Street, San Francisco, at noon every Wednesday, for the benefit of those of you who may be traveling West this summer.
Attorney George Wein was elected president of the Charles Gelman Lodge, B'nai B'rith recently.
Art Seepe has been named as treasurer of Colby College. Art started at Colby in 1937 as an instructor, became an associate professor in 1940 and assistant treasurer in 1947. He and Virginia have two children, Virginia Katherine and Arthur W. Jr.
Bill Schuldenfrei forwarded good letters from Mac MacKechnie and Charlie Schneider, who says: "I am still located in Scarsdale in close proximity to the great McAllister and ChuckMorris," and Wen Whitcher who writes: "After taking my Ph.D. at Harvard in 1940 I was with the DuPont Co. as research chemist for about nine years. I resigned this past summer to accept an appointment as Associate Professor of Chemistry at Grove City College (Pa.)—My family consists of my good wife Exa, two daughters, Alice Anne, 8, and Sarah Boyd, 5½, and a son, Wendell Jr., 6 mos."

Will Johnson is living at 117 Lincoln Ave., Albany, N. Y.; Charlie Marx, 158 Grand Ave., Englewood, N. J.; and ParkerPierce is at 60 Ackerman Ave., E. Paterson, N. J. Ed Rhetts has his office in the Tower Bldg., Washington, D. C. Dr. Joe Rushton is practicing at 420 16th Ave., S.W., Rochester, Minn. George Burnett is living at North Village Green, Levittown, L. I. Dr. Elmer Rosenblum is at 31 Brooklawn Ave., Stamford, Conn.; Bill Rudy is living in Cannondale, Conn. Jack Schackne's address is 24 Cherwing Rd., Yonkers, N. Y., and Henry Wilson lives at 17661 Howe Ave., Homewood, 111.
This Bnishes the news until next fall. If all goes well your Secretary will pick up the column then in Charlottesville, Va., where he will be struggling for his doctorate.
