The Dartmouth Outing Club of Northern California sponsored three showings of Dartmouth films at their spring neighborhood parties in April. About 130 people were present, including about fifty alumni, a dozen parents of undergraduates and ten prospective Dartmouth men, most of whom have been ac- cepted for the Class of 1954. Wives and families of alumni and friends of the College made up the total. Ray Taylor '11 was host to the gathering in his home in Palo Alto, Alan Livingston '15 in San Francisco and Winsor Wilkinson 'to in Berkeley.

Carl Ward '32, President of the Club, who attended all three parties, made the following comments: "After seeing Dartmouth beat Cornell in Hanover we are all hoping next year's team can do as well. The 1949 Carnival picture Snow Holiday measured up with the best ever. There's a lot of skiing in twenty minutes of film. A rather radical departure from the average run of college films, the new DartmouthOutdoors can be most enthusiastically recommended to anyone who wants to see Hanover and the New Hampshire countryside again. The layout of the film is excellent, the fall colors superb and the picture of outdoor life most appealing. If you have a chance to see this film don't miss it."

At each of the parties Carl gave a brief verbal picture of the activities of the Club. The annual outing for Club members and their gals is our next scheduled event early in June. Then comes the active season at the Club property at Donner, high in the Sierra Nevada, where we intend to complete this summer a timber cabin for the use of those interested in summer outings and winter sports.

At the Berkeley party Alan Grant '43 showed the 8 mm. colored film he and Jean took last summer when they spent a week in the vicinity of our Donner property. It is convincing proof that there is plenty to see and do up there in the summer and fall in addition to skiing on ten feet of snow in the wintertime.
