This pleasant nans was contained in the Houston Club news in the December issue of the MAGAZINE: "Friends of Harrison INichols '98 will be glad to know that he is very much improved and that he attended the party looking as if he had gained 10 pounds and lost 10 years in the last six months." Doc Nolan is showing a slight improvement. He and Anna returned from their summer home in Middleboro, where they had spent the summer and fall, to their New York home in December.

Eunice Spring (Mrs. Jack) died on December 18 from an embolism of the lungs following an operation on December 6 for stomach ulcers. While she had been in a critical condition following the operation, on the morning of her death her doctor reported that she seemed a little stronger.

She was born in Royalton, Vt., and was a member of the class of 1898 at Smith College. She had been a member of Matthew Thorn- ton Chapter, D.A.R., and a past regent and also a past State regent. She had been active in the affairs of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and the diocese, serving as president of the auxiliary and a member of the executive council of the diocese. She had had a good deal to do in her modest way with building up the choir in that church and the entire choir, young and old, men and women, to the number of about 50, as a tribute to her, took their part in the funeral services which were conducted by Bishop Dallas, former Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire.

Only last October she and Jack and your secretary and Betty had a luncheon party and attended the Dartmouth-Harvard game. On that occasion she appeared to be her old gracious, friendly,"congenial self. She had been a regular attendant at all Class reunions and Class Officers' meetings in Hanover with Jack and her absence at such future occasions will be greatly felt. The sympathy of the Class goes out to Jack on her death after more than 48 years of loving and devoted companionship with her. Ruth and Ev Snow represented the Class at the funeral.

The sympathy of the Class of '98 is extended to Prof. L. B. Richardson on the death of his wife.
