The last 30 days in our area have been filled with various Dartmouth activities. To start the ball rolling, we were treated to a visit by Coach Bob Blackman and Jack Musick in the middle of December for a meeting with various high school prospects in the area at Jim Tindle's '36 Valley Forge Farm. It is always a treat to hear Coach Blackman discuss Dartmouth with all its aspects to the boys.

December 28, 1965 found almost 100 alumni, undergraduates, and their fathers gathered at the Poor Richard Club for our Dutch Treat Luncheon. For the first time we operated without a featured speaker and had one of our best turnouts (this might be a clue to other clubs for successful affairs). The reason, of course, was the premiere showing of the 1965 Football Highlights film and all in the area were most anxious to see the Lambert Trophy winners in action.

A few weeks later, on January 15, Coach Blackman returned to Philadelphia for a luncheon speaking engagement at the Poor Richard Club and again approximately 100 alumni came out to spend a most enjoyable few hours hearing him describe the season in his inimitable way. Bill Melohn '49 served as our Social Chairman for these functions and deserves a pat on the back for the time and effort spent.

We have been expanding our social schedule at a most rapid rate and we need the support of all to make it successful. However, what is most important is that we are now in the process of building our Scholarship Fund so that we might be able to provide scholarships for acceptable boys from the Philadelphia area. Being a tax exempt organization, the Club needs to function at a profit in order to make the dues paid to the Club a charitable contribution so that at the end of the year, the Club itself can turn over a healthy sum to the Scholarship Fund. We can all help Dartmouth and our Club by supporting all Club activities.

The next function on hand will be our Annual Dinner with election of Officers on March 29, 1966, at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel. We are privileged to have as our featured speakers, President Dickey and Alumni Fund Chairman Rupert Thompson '28. Watch the Newsletter for further details.
