Our Christmas luncheon was well attended and honored our only student representative, Charles Luker '53, who vacationed with his parents in Atlanta. Since most of our traveling representatives were in town during the holiday period, they joined our regular attenders. Members attending were: Charles B.Altman '24, G. B. Conklin '4.3, R. F. Dick Exton brought along as guest of our Club, Dean George Griffin of Georgia Tech, who spoke about a game played between Dartmouth and Georgia Tech several years ago. That game was won by Dartmouth. The Club has expressed some interest in a possible arrangement for revived relationship with Georgia Tech for future athletic contests.
The secretary received a letter from Capt.Howard T. Sawyer '45, "presently" stationed at a hospital in Seoul, Korea. He wrote he had read the November ALUMNI MAGAZINE and particularly, the mention in the Georgia Club Notes that he had "joined" the Georgia Club. He stated he had left Mary Hitchcock Hospital after a three-year stay and was transferred to Ft. Benning, Ga., for 48 hours prior to duty in Korea. He plans to renew his membership after his present tour of duty in Korea.
Chuck Palmer '18 just returned from a 30-day tour in Europe, where he studied housing in Spain and England, attended his daughter's wedding in Zurich, Switzerland, and presented Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorials to various town leaders in Holland, home of Roosevelt ancestors. A. Henley Sturgess '18 is currently teaching a class in real estate, conducted by Atlanta Public School System.
Members of the Armed Forces being transferred into this area are especially invited to join our Club at regular monthly luncheons on the last Thursday of each month at Davisons.
