John Dickey's presence and message were an inspiration to the membership, and everyone is hopeful that President Dickey will be able to make such a visit an annual affair. A press breakfast scheduled for the next morning was suddenly cancelled by General Mac Arthur's dismissal. Jack O'Brion was unable to convince the editors of the local newspaper that the Mac Arthur incident was secondary to President Dickey's presence in Atlanta. On Thursday Jack O'Brion and Louis J. Fortuna drove President Dickey to Warm Springs, Ga., location of the Warm Springs Foundation and the Little White House. Chuck Palmer '18 had arranged a guided tour and luncheon. That date was the sixth anniversary of the death of President Roosevelt, and Doc O'Connor '12, honorary chairman, Chuck Palmer '18, and the Directors of the Foundation were holding their annual meeting at the Warm Springs Foundation. We were much impressed by the wonderful work being done for the polio patients. From there President Dickey was driven to Chattanooga for his meeting with the Chattanooga Club.
