The annual spring dinner and meeting was held on April 8, at the Officers' Club, Atlanta Naval Air Station. The secretary-treasurer's report was read and approved. One of the provisions called for a collection covering operating deficiencies for the past year. These assessments were collected on sight and credited to the treasury.
New officers elected for the coming year are Joseph R. Stone '3O, president, and Louis J.Fortuna '3B, secretary-treasurer. Under the leadership of our new president, an interesting and full program will be organized for all the members. Members present were: Dave L. Dorwood 'l2, our senior member, Bill Dreier '24, Dr. John S. Fish '34, Baxter T. Fullerton '36, Bill Marsh Jr. '3l, Austin L. Starrett '29, Joe Stone '3O, Hank F. Williams '47, Walter E. Floyd 'l4, and Louis Fortuna '3B. A "prevue" meeting had been held the night before at the home of Hap Jones '24, at which the Joneses, Mr. and Mrs. Sturgess 'l7, and Mr. and Mrs. Fortuna planned details of meeting.
Phil Coykendall '25, our host, had an emergency operation the morning of the meeting. Dr. Ben Read '32 won his bet with the Secretary that the "stork" would demand his official presence at a local hospital.
The movies "Green Flashback" and "Football Scrapbook of 1948" were the feature presentation, supplementing the activities of the members who gathered in the Navy private bar.
Frank White '47 is our new member. A new membership list has been printed and is being currently distributed to all the members.
