DARTMOUTH'S 41st annual Winter Carnival, on February 9 and 10, will probably be the last full-fledged Carnival for some years, if austerity comes as everyone expects it to. There was, in fact, long discussion as to whether this year's Carnival ought not to be curtailed or cancelled, but it was finally agreed that such a move would have absolutely no effect on mobilization or the national welfare—and student morale can stand the lift that Carnival gives it.
The 1951 Carnival program seems to be one of the best ever planned, and only the weather man's failure to cooperate can spoil it. A top attraction will be the Outdoor Evening appearance of Barbara Ann Scott, world's leading woman figure skater.
