I am glad to report that no notice has been received of any serious sickness of any of the 11 survivors of '90, but regret to report the passing of Mrs. Arthur H. Locke, at Penacook, N. H., February 28, and Katherine Hilton Bradley, October 28, in Escondido, Calif.
Mrs. Locke was taken sick July 30, soon after our 60th reunion, and went down hill constantly until her death. Further information will be sent me for class records. Mrs. Locke was very loyal to 'go, never missing a reunion. Since the death of Mr. Locke in 1926 she has contributed $50 annually to the Alumni Fund.
Mrs. Henry Hilton writes that the winter has been clouded by the death of Katherine, her oldest daughter, that she is experiencing the infirmities of age and cannot see many friends. Katherine was an alumna of Wellesley, class of '19. She married John Hodgdon Bradley, scholar, professor, lecturer and author, and became his efficient, helpful secretary. Their daughter Margaret Ruth (now Mrs. Frederick Rice Jr.) was graduated from Wellesley in 1948. Katherine traveled widely, both at home and abroad, and was most active in good works.
I was a guest of John Canty last week at his picturesque home in Melrose close by Middlesex Fells. John may outlive all of us of '90, due to the salubrious location of his home, on high ground, a perfect solarium. Eleanor and Ruth live here with their parents, the former a librarian at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the latter teaching at Lunenburg near Fitchburg, Mass., motoring to and from work daily and how they can motor! I know from experience. Mrs. Canty is now able to take auto trips occasionally.
