Mrs. William T. ("Jigger") Merrill spent a three months' summer vacation in Maine. She was two months in Aroostook County. She has a brother there and many old friends. Sherman, Me., was her birthplace. Then she was one month with her niece and friends at Belfast. She had a "wonderful vacation." Mrs. Merrill attended our 50th Reunion and has individual photographs of members of the Class that she would send to anyone if requested.
Mrs. Emily Shaw Harris (Shaw's daughter) came from California to attend the 60th Anniversary of '87 in 1947. She has kept a keen interest in our Class affairs. She writes that she would be pleased to obtain any notes or pictures about the 60th Reunion. There is a slight change in her address. It is now 2414 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley 4, Calif.
Dr. Frank P. Brackett (deceased). In a letter just received, Mrs. Frances Shaw Loughlin (another daughter of Shaw) writes from Los Angeles that at the request of her sister Emily and your Secretary, she telephoned Dr. Brackett's son and learned that his father passed away September 3, 1951.
Herbert E. Gage says that when he was at Hanover in June he thought that he was not well enough to go to Florida again this winter, but now he is "looking up." He has obtained train reservations for about October 20. When these Class Notes are issued in November his address probably will be 130 4th Ave., N., St. Petersburg, Fla.
Your Secretary would like to call attention to the comparatively large gifts that the Class of '87 and its friends have been contributing to the annual Alumni Fund $2,088 for 1951; $2,111 for 1952. The nine living members this year gave $1,750 or an average of $194 per member. Is not that pretty good for '87?
