of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE this year to run several articles that will give alumni a better knowledge of the educational program and policy of the College. The need for such an effort on our part was pointed up last spring when more than half of the 25-year class of 1927 could not answer a survey question about Dartmouth's educational policy because they had little idea of what that policy is.

At the heart of the educational planning of the College is the Committee on Educational Policy, headed by Anton A. Raven, Professor of English, and including also Donald H. Morrison, Dean of the Faculty; John C. Adams, Professor of History; James C. Babcock, Professor of Romance Languages; Wallace C. G. Fraser, Assistant Professor of Mathematics; James P. Poole, Professor of Botany; and Charles L. Stone '17, Professor of Psychology. Prof. Clark W. Horton, Consultant in Educational Research, is adviser to the Committee. To launch our series of articles, Professor Raven has kindly prepared a special report to the alumni on the work of the Educational Policy Committee since its reestablishment a year ago.

Later in this publication year the ALUMNI MAGAZINE intends to present the results of a survey of the Great Issues course, an article on the content and rationale of the present Dartmouth curriculum, and an article on teaching at Dartmouth. Word from alumni readers as to what they would like to learn about Dartmouth's educational program will be warmly welcomed.
