The three-score or more alumni, fathers ofundergraduates, students and guests whobraved one of Buffalo's best snow squalls of thewinter and plowed through to the UniversityClub on December 20 were well rewarded fortheir efforts. This season's Christmas luncheonproved no exception to the rule that it is oneof the best gatherings of the year. In additionto Coach Julian and the basketball squad, who were guests of the Club at this event, the following were among those present:

Ed Felt 'l8, Don Scully 'l8 and son, Don '49 (who was home on leave from the Navy), Chet Gale '19 and son, Chet '55, Les Lambert '21 and son Bob '53, Lorin Goulding '21, Herm Oliver '22, Horace Taylor '23 and son, Horace, '54 Paul Venneman '26, Herb Darling 26 and son, Herb 55, Hugh Johnson '30 and sons Hughie and Stewie, John Cheney '30, Norm McGrath '30, John Cogswell '31 and son, John '55, John Metzger '34, Ted Fleming '34, Carmelo Gugino '38, Lew Harriman '38 Jim Sullivan '40, Jack Cowan 40, Ed Marlette '41 Hank Davis '42, Bill Hart '42, Fred Cohn '44, Jack Ahern '45, Sam Johnson 46, Jack Marlette '46, Bob Tracy '48, Bob Winship '49, Jack Loveland '49 and Jack Ransom '49 (both in uniforms of Air Force and Army respectively), Lud Truscott '50 Ed Sine '51, Jack Newton '53, Bryce Bastian John S. Wilder '55 and father, W. D. Wilder Jim Sanderson '55 and father, Al Sanderson, and John F. Orth '55.

Doggie Julian brought us up to date on the Hanover athletic picture with a brief summary of the outlook for various sports. Captain Kent Calhoun spoke briefly for the squad, and Horace Taylor '23 told one of his inimitable stories to round out the program.

In the evening at Memorial Auditorium our one-game winning streak over Canisius was broken. The Big Green had a little trouble finding the basket and a rather mediocre Griffin team won without too much trouble. The spirit was willing but there were no Brobergs,Pearsons, or McLeods. The Johnson twins look like they might help us out sometime in the future, but, in the meantime—this winter —why don't you go over to the local school gym and see if you can't find a good, allaround boy? Sell him on the idea of a Dartmouth experience!
