A much appreciated letter from Art Lundand, since it is the first we have received fromhim in approximately 25 years and a newsyletter too, we are printing it in its entirety.
"At long last I have broken silence! I believe that this is the first letter that I have ever written to you. Now with our approaching reunion it seems more important than ever that I bring you up to date concerning myself.
"While a biography is called for, in order not to bore you with an interminable tome, I will try to be brief.
"After graduation in June of 1927, I taught French and Spanish for two years in Suffield Academy, Suffield, Conn. In furtherance of my teaching profession I spent the summer of 1928 in travel in France and Spain. I spent the following year at Columbia University doing graduate work for my A. M. in French which I obtained in 1930.
"I then lived for the next 13 years in New York City working for the General Drafting Co. as office manager, having abandoned the teaching field. I then removed to Baltimore as Chief Clerk for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. Subsequently! entered the credit field as credit manager for an ice company here, then a jewelry store and finally a department store, Rosenthal's, where I am now collection manager.
"In 1933 I married Alice Bradley with whom I was graduated from high school. We have two children, both boys, one in the sixth grade and one in the eighth.
"I am doing extra-curricular activity this year with the Dartmouth Club of Baltimore. All of us in the club are busy now formulating plans to bring the Glee Club here for a concert and dance in the spring.
"Leon Loeb of our class had the whole club out to his farm for a most enjoyable outing on November 4. Leonard Dunn, sales manager for General Mills, is active in the club and I see quite a bit of him.
"Nothing of particular interest, but I did want to bring you up to date. I am very definitely planning to be present for the reunion in June, and shall look forward to seeing you then."

Early in January at the National Motor Boat Show in New York City a new feature was inaugurated in the naming of America's "Boating Family of the Year." The family first selected for this honor were Mr. and Mrs. DonGardner and their two youngsters, Kit, 19, and Don, 17. They were officially awarded a plaque as the Ail-American Boating Family of 1951 by the president of the National Association of Engine and Boat Manufacturers. The New York Times of Monday, January 14, carried an excellent picture of the entire family being awarded the plaque and also a picture of their boat, Borogove II, a beautiful 41-foot auxiliary yawl which they sail out of Marblehead, Mass. An accompanying article says: "Don Gardner, head of his own advertising agency in Boston, has a 41-foot auxiliary yawl, Borogove II, on which his family does all the work. All can navigate and take their turns standing watch on cruises.
"During World War II Gardner was a commissioned officer in the Coast Guard commanding a group of LST's during the invasion of the Philippines, and before that was in the Coast Guard's anti-submarine sailing fleet operating out of Nantucket. He is a former Commodore of the Boston Yacht Club and has served as Rear Commodore of the Boston group of the Cruising Club of America."

At the time this column is going to press we are preparing a questionnaire which should be received by you early in February. The purpose of this is to prepare a class book to be distributed to each member of the class shortly before reunion time, and this can only be accomplished if you will complete your questionnaire promptly and return it to us. The book must go to press by April 1 and so it is most important to have your question- naire and a family picture, if possible, not later than April i and preferably now.
Don't forget your plans for the reunion June 6, 7 and 8 and also remember that Gus and Spence have a terrific assignment on that 25-year gift and need our help.
