Evy Chan returned to Hanover from her home in Paris to perform at the 25th anniversary celebration of coeducation. Evy was recently named president of the Association Internationale des Amis de Franz Schreker, the Friends of Franz Schreker, an Austrian composer (1878-1934). She was scheduled to give a benefit concert with Merrell Wiseman in Seattle in January to kick-off a fund-drive for the new association. Merrell was Evy's pianist at Dartmouth, and he's now a pediatrician. Evy says he remains very active in the Seattle classical music scene and serves on the board of a Baroque orchestra. It will be their first collaboration in 20 years.

Suzanne Wiley Young, a dedicated hockey mom for the past several years, has been promoted to hockey coach of the ten- year-old squirt squad. She also keeps busy dreaming up the sales pitch of the month for the Alumni Fund. Fortunately, in December the end-of-the-year tax-planning angle is pretty standard, so Sue has more time to concentrate on her stick-handling drills.

Missy Attridge reports that Mike Carter has reemerged in our nation's capital to whip the city into financial shape like he did Indianapolis (we can always hope, can't we?). Mike is also busy with plans for the dedication of the Black Civil War Memorial in D.C. this coming summer, which will feature a bas relief sculpture by Mike's friend Ed Hamilton of Louisville. Missy also caught up with Harry Wilson and Kevin Ross at the recent Alumni Council meeting in Hanover. Kevin just successfully ran the reelection campaign for Atlanta's mayor and will go back to his position as managing partner of the Hunton and Williams law firm at the first of the year.

Donna Fletcher wrote to say she works fulltime in her own marketing consulting business in suburban Chicago. She helps her clients figure out what consumers really want and how to sell it to them from juice drinks to hospitals to cereal. She also reports that Lee Ann Disharoon Tolzmann plans to attend seminary starting in September '98.

Mark Pruner recently spoke to the Practicing Law Institute on "What Lawyers Need to Know about the Internet." His firm recently received the Distinguished Legal Service Award from Lexis-Nexis for designing a law firm's website. He sent along some tips on how my firm could distinguish our web site from a submarine sandwich franchiser with a similar address.

Rika Pierson Clement has returned to the rugged West after a two-year stint in New England. Her husband, Bill (a.k.a. Waldo '79), began working as a research professor at Boise State University just before Thanksgiving. Rika and her daughters Lauren (age 13) and Emma (age 9) will join him in early February. They are excited to be returning to western skiing, hiking, and camping, and claim Boise has all the cultural accoutrements but without the urban feel of eastern cities.

Anyone visiting the area is invited to look them up to receive a tour of the sites. Hey, Rika, put me down for mid-July. Amy Cammann Cholnoky reports that Cort Delaney was FINALLY married this fall, continues to work at Cummings and Lockwood (law firm), and lives with his bride Sherri in Greenwich, Conn. Seen at the reception were Ann Duffy and Bob Bagbey, who drove all the way up from Virginia that day.
