On account of demands on space in the obituary section in the February MAGAZINE the following quotation from a letter of Jimmie Mann was omitted:

"My philosophy of life in work and play has been to do a little more than my share and to compete in courtesy and generosity rather than to fight for preferment or special privileges."

Here in this column which is intended mainly for classmates the following word from the same letter (written in 1944) may be given:

"In later years, especially when the going gets tough, I go to the Lord for help. I consider God my best and closest friend. He always seems near, when sought in prayer, and in emergencies has never failed to bring me through."

Let the remainder of our space this month be given to our vigorous and versatile classmate Eddie Grover. One might continue the alliteration with the adjective "venerable" except that no '94 man uses that with reference to a classmate.

"I began the year last February by acting as Publisher of Volume 25, Number 1 of the Rollins Animated Magazine on which Dr. Hamilton Holt and I have collaborated for a quarter of a century. This is the only magazine published in America which "comes alive," all the contributors appearing in person. The Magazine is published out-of- doors on the Rollins Campus under the hot February sun and attracts an audience of some 7,000.

"My main point of contact is now through the Mills Memorial Library which was dedicated last spring, at a cost of $525,000. For the opening of the Library I put on a large exhibit showing the evolution of the book from the Sumerian cuneiform clay tablets, the papyrus books of Egypt, the block books of the Netherlands, the marvelous Gutenberg story together with examples of the leading Medieval presses of Europe, down to the migration of printing to America and the fine printing of today. The Librarian has kindly asked me to supervise the book exhibits and special collections for the coming year.

"Shortly after Commencement, we drove over 600 miles to 'Green Gables,' at the foot of Huckleberry Mountain, six miles from Henderson- ville, N. C. Our acre of land with its log cabin and running brook adjoins the Huckleberry Mountain Workshop Camp, which makes a pleasant association for my two sisters and my two daughters and myself. I was shocked to find that we did not have a green gable on the cabin, so one of my jobs this summer is to have three of them painted bright green! I have kept busy clearing new land, carpentering, painting, gathering apples, raspberries, blackberries, and grapes from our back yard, and improving the buildings and grounds generally.

"On returning to Winter Park, one of my first jobs has been as chairman of a committee to raise the last $10,000 of a $40,000 Nursing Home for the Negroes of Winter Park. Give everybody my greetings and best wishes, and an invitation to a gallon of orange juice if they will drop in on me at 930 Camellia Avenue. Here's hoping! Eddie."
