It was about this time of year, 60 years ago, when a few seniors would take wooden pegs and string and mark out tennis courts through a foot of snow on the northeast corner of the Campus, and after the snow had melted, mark the lines with whitewash and hold control over the courts until the end of the College year. It was also about this time when Prof. Pollens chased beer purveyors through the corridors of Old Dartmouth. Another annual occurrence was the removal of the hands from the clock on Dartmouth, and the daily announcement in Chapel by Pres. Bartlett that the perpetrators were well known and unless the hands were returned they would be separated from the College. They were never returned, but after the snow had melted were found in the Vale of Tempe.

A tradition was handed down that "Tute" Worthen never called on an initiate of K.K.K. to recite on the day following the initiation exercises. That was true so far as the members of '90 were concerned. The Professor was a member of K.K.K.

Prof. Colby had a class in International Law. Frequently he would give details of a case which he had taken from law reports and call on a senior to give the verdict. After the man had rendered his opinion, the Prof, would say, "The Courts decided otherwise." Which no doubt afforded him great satisfaction, and amusement to the class.
