Well sir, it's getting closer and closer. June 19, 20 and 21 are the dates, and to quote my old Battery Commander in the Army, "We will arrange the arrangements and proceed with the proceedings." Just in case you haven't been alive this year you realize it is our Ferocious Fifteenth Reunion we are speaking of. Circle the dates on your calendar, butter up a baby-sitter, and PREPARE THE PREPARATIONS.

This past month, March 4 to be exact, saw the annual Boston alumni dinner at the Sheraton (old Copley) Plaza with an attendance of some 425 persons. Five classmates showed, ever-faithful Ralph Griffith up from Providence, Bemis Bag's own Cal Eldred, oft-mentioned John Handrahan, the new thin-man Dr. Art Tucker (less some 30 pounds), and a surprise package in the form of Bill Cash. Seems that General Mills in Minneapolis elected to send Bill back to Harvard Business School for the three months' so-called A & P course for business executives and he arrived March 1, just in time for the Boston dinner. He expects to be kept extremely busy but anyone desiring to contact him kindly note he is residing at D-42 Hamilton Hall and that's Cambridge, of course. Telephone, University 4-6529.

Our correspondence on behalf of the directory has produced some replies in letter form with which we would like to deal at this time. Dana Prescott, now in Washington, writes he is quite involved in papering and painting four bedrooms, two baths, a dining room and a kitchen and meanwhile ministering to their new girl-child, Galyn, now four months, who Dana calls fat and sassy. He describes his work as interesting but misses the typical Army life on a post with troops. Also had his first tangle with a Congressional Committee testifying on the Army budget before the House Appropriations Committee and came out singed but not burned - says they'll get him next time for sure. They expect to be in Washington another 1½ years and hope to make reunion.

Kindness of wifey, Lauretta, we have our first news of Jack Gore and we quote: "Due to a great many things such as moving around the country, sickness, etc., we have never written you but have read avidly every bit of Dartmouth literature sent us. We have a daughter, Ida Mae, 11 years old, in Junior High, and another, Lynn Marie, who will be 5 next month. After a checkered career we hope we can look forward to more normal living and also hope to get to Hanover in June." Jack is manager of the F. W. Woolworth store in Plymouth, Mass. Thank you, Lauretta, for your letter and may we hope other wives will wield a pen on behalf of their non-corresponding husbands.

We even stirred up the town of Herlong, Calif., and dug Johnny Follett out of hiding. Says he has been stuck out in the wilderness, the town being an Army ammunition storage depot of some 4000 people, tucked away in the Sierras, far removed from any metropolitan life. This is fine for his department-store business as it is the only one, but he has been very much out of contact for some time. John is still a bachelor. He hopes to make the trek East come June but is still working on that.

John Osborne out in Wheeling, W. Va., runs the Theatrical Enterprises concern and pens a note to us. His son completely cut off one toe last spring in the power lawnmower, and John was elected as of the first of this year to the presidency of the Wheeling Kiwanis Club. Outside of that all is quiet in Wheeling.

Ham Mathes writes from a foreign shore - Trieste. Since he has found that the coveted letters A.8., A.M., and Ph.D. do not feed a family too well he has given up the academic ghost, temporarily, on a leave of absence from his post as Assistant Professor of Romance Languages at Tufts College in Boston. Is now director of the USIS library in Trieste, which is called the Allied Reading Room since it is still a combined British-American AMG operation. Ham's work is mainly in the information center and exchange of persons. Lucy and the two girls are with him.

Indirectly we have news of Jim Sage. He is print copy supervisor for Compton Advertising in NYC and lives in Tuckahoe, N. Y. Wife is Nancy and they have two daughters. As a family they love traveling and drove a Renault all over Mexico two years ago. This past Christmas vacation they took three weeks and drove the same car down to Miami Beach and back.

As reported before, George and Peggy Roewer have been out in Van Nuys, Calif., since last April and a postcard from them proclaims a fast-growing love for that place. George is commissioner for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. They are saving all shekels for the June P-rade with fond hopes.

Lt. Col. Al Martin was awarded the Bronze Star medal in ceremonies held at Schuylkill Arsenal at Philadelphia. Cited for meritorious service in Korea as executive officer of the U S. Army Advisory Group to Korea, he accomplished widespread reorganization and supervised all projects for the Republic of Korea Army; "saved approximately $22,000,000 - by revising the chaotic system of maintaining logistical records and instructing untrained Korean personnel." Our congratulations to Al.
