The Dartmouth varsity rifle team continues its undefeated ways with a perfect 16-0 record including four league wins. The team, led by Captain Dick Plummer and coached by Sgt. F. A. Fydor (USMC), recently set a new scoring record of 1434 on the home range. Fred Engelbach, the top shooter, has also set a mark of 291 and a perfect 100 record form the kneeling position. Other team members include Bob Oxford, Tom Conner, Elliot Hersey, Ken Lundstrom, Bob Barry, Karl Heller and Henry Ravenel.
Freshman winter sports at Dartmouth have just got started. The frosh basketball team, one of the best in recent years, walloped the Albany Business School, 80-36, with center Jim Francis getting 19 points and forward Ron Judson hitting for 14. Herb Markman, Eugene Booth and Jim Donohue were the other members of the starting team.
The frosh hockey team defeated Kimball Union Academy 8-0 but lost to the Northwood School 6-3, while the frosh swimming, team lost the second meet of the season to Exeter by a 40-35 count.
