Dartmouth's swimming coach, Karl Michael, has been named by the Men's Olympic Committee to handle the diving squad for the U. S. Olympic swimming team which will compete at Melbourne, Australia, next November. Robert Muir, swimming coach at Williams, has been selected coach of the U. S. team. Olympic tryouts begin late this summer and the swimmers chosen will leave for Australia about November 15.

Ray Truncellito '49, freshman football line coach, has resigned in order to enter private business, it was announced January 18 by "Red" Rolfe, director of athletics. Ray played four years of varsity football, 1945 to 1948, and stayed on for two years as assistant line coach. He then served three years in the Army and returned to be freshman line coach in 1954 and 1955. He has accepted a position with the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company and will work under the Manchester, N. H., general agent.

After a lapse of nearly ten years, wrestling returned to Alumni Gymnasium as the Big Green wrestling team opened its season with a 22-10 loss to Amherst. Captain John Palmer at 157 pounds and freshman Frank Reuling at 167 pounds were the only Dartmouth winners, and both won over their Amherst opponents by falls. The New England heavyweight champion, Dune Patten of Amherst, pinned Dartmouth's Al Krutch but only after a long match. The Lord Jeffs have a good team and the Indians did well.

Quarterback Bill Beagle and End Monte Pascoe received recognition of another sort recently when they were selected for the American Encyclopedia's All-Scholastic Team. Both were cited for outstanding play and high academic ranking.

Ralph Miller '55, brilliant Dartmouth alpine skier, finished fifth in the international Hahnenkamm downhill and slalom combined in Kitzbuehel, Austria - for one of the best showings made by an American skier in any of the meets leading up to the winter Olympic competition starting at Cortina, Italy, on January 26. Dartmouth skier Chick Igaya, who represents Japan, has taken one first place and two seconds in similar warm-up meets.
