With over 100 freshmen swelling the ranks, the Dartmouth Rowing Club moves into its crucial year and embarks on a "big time" schedule. Varsity Coach Thad Seymour and Freshman Coach Phil Cole have been hard at work training their teams for the spring schedule and also readying them for the Fall Regatta with M.I.T. which was held in Hanover the Saturday of Cornell weekend.

Rowing over the Henley course, the Dartmouth heavyweight crew lost out to M.I.T. by a scant deck length. In another close race the M.I.T. lightweights, winner of the Henley Regatta in England this past June, lost to the Dartmouth 150-pound crew. The Green jayvee heavyweight crew also won over M.I.T., while the Dartmouth freshman crew lost. So with two wins and two defeats, all concerned were satisfied. The Dartmouth Rowing Club is more than ever determined to make a strong bid for Eastern rowing recognition next spring.
