The New Year has brought with it a few hectic and chaotic moments, especially in its early hours. And since we write our monthly note to you, one month prior to press time, it is now actually only January 1. The week before Christmas took us down to Chicago for four short hours, and fortunately enough, permitted a short sandwich and a cup of coffee with newly returned Pete Henderson. Hendy was in the throes of job hunting and taking his breather quite leisurely. We also talked to Jim Bovaird, who just hit town with Armstrong Cork. (Incidentally, anyone selling hair restorer, please send a sample bottle down to Hendy.) We were terribly sorry not to have been able to call Herb Knight, Don Binks, and the many others of you whom we know are in the Windy City.

Since everything else is far from organized, we will follow the generally accepted pattern on New Year's Day and ramble hither and yon as usual. We received a very pleasant Christmas card from Dick Mason, as - we did from many others of you, and thanks to yon all. Dick was justly perturbed in not being reported as the source of information for Bill Michener's wedding, which we erroneously reported to have taken place in Washington, D. C., but which actually took place, we hope, in Cincinnati. This isn't authentic since our little boy Chip destroyed the card before this information was recorded. At any rate, the apology has been made and we will accept corrections without additional charge anytime. Seriously, we greatly appreciate the many letters and information that you all send to us. In 1955 please keep up the excellent efforts.

Out of Mr. and Mrs. Al Mori's Christmas card fell a little blue announcement of the arrival of Stephen Leavitt Mori on December 11. So we know Al and Dottie certainly had their hands full this Christmas.

Contrary to age-old custom, Pete Bogardus, as best man, stole the show from starry-eyed groom Bill Bobhs' wedding last fall in San Francisco, as a photograph certainly attests. Ted Eberle, who has been making a small side-line business of ushering in weddings and doing quite well at it, was also one of the participants. Bogey is working in San Francisco for the City Transfer and Storage Company. Last fall also saw the marriage of TedLaskin to Eva Rosenbaum in New York City. It was great news to hear of the wedding of Kent McKenzie aid Josephine Williams. Kent is now continuing graduate work at the University of Southern California, and his lovely bride has already received her B.S. degree from Pennsvlvania State University and done graduate work at Michigan State College. Perhaps by this time the marriage vows have been read: at any rate, we belatedly report the engagement of John Higley to Marcia Ackerman. John is with the Irving Trust in New York, and Marcia, after graduating from ElCollege, joined New Jersey Bell Telephone Co.

Nancy Bauer must have been excited to receive the proposal from John Ferguson recently. Nancy is carrying a Mt. Holyoke pigskin. and John as many of you know, is doing graduate work at Columbia University. BillLeffler is attending the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. Ohio, as I believe we reported to you sometime ago. When Bill finishes up his course of study, he will be ordained in the Reform Judaism Rabbinate. It was swell to see Bill last spring, when we were in Hanover. We reported seeing Dave Barker here in Minneapolis recently. However, did we tell you that he received his Master of Arts degree from the University of Minn, on August 19?

To skip back a line or two, Bill Leffler's engagement was announced last fall to Alana Alperin of Cleveland, Ohio. Bill and Alana were scheduled to be married on November 25, so by now it's Mr. and Mrs. and our best wishes to them. Alana is a graduate of Western Reserve University, and she was teaching the hard-of-hearing in the Cincinnati public school system.

Dave Emerson and his new wife of last September journeyed out to Cape Cod after their marriage in Houston, Texas. ShirleyArmstrong is her pre-marriage name, as I know we have previously reported. Sandra Shohet, who attended Radcliffe College, was engaged last fall to Dr. Edward Landau. The wedding is probably old stuff to some of you by now, so please send us the details. Ed, of course, is attending Harvard Med School, and the couple is no doubt living in Cambridge. It might even be Mr. and Mrs. for Nancy Stotz and Russ Keep, since their engagement was announced last fall. Russ is going to have to keep jumping to keep up to Nancy, since she has received her B.S. from Vassar, and her M.A. from Harvard University.

Congratulations are in order to Paul Orth, who was admitted to the bar in Boston, Mass.' last fall, after receiving his Harvard law degree. Paul is now in the Army at Ft. Dix, Betty Jean Roach and Bob Armstrong declared their matrimonial intentions sometime ago, and it certainly must be Mr. and Mrs. by now, as a December wedding was planned. Bob is now in his third year in Med School at Temple University. Hearty congratulations to the Roaches!

Roger Shannon and the former Martha Tuttle of Summit, N. J., became Mr. and Mrs. on November 27. Martha was engaged in some excellent preparatory work for marriage with the Department of Defense in Washington, D. C. She is a 1953 graduate from Wellesley, and no doubt you know that Rog is preparing to become a doctor at the George Washington University.

Best wishes are in order for Maureen Moher and Marcel Durot, who were married on December 18. Maureen made her debut in Boston with the 1951 group.

That's about it for this time at bat. Postcards don't seem to be a very popular media for transmitting information.' However, think of how simple it would be to drop one in the mail with a touch of information about yourself, or any of the great 'siers that you have run into recently. We would very much appredate hearing from each of you as would all of your classmates. Cheerio until next month. Happy Dave Leslie.

EDITORS ARE NON-PLUSSED by this photograph sent in by the 1951 class secretaryand, offer as a likely interpretation the possibility that Pete Bogardus (in white) was trying todemonstrate his fitness for the role of best man at the wedding of Bill Bobbs '5I.
