This is the time when we want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year! We wish we could visit all 'siers personally, this time of year especially. However, know that our thoughts and best wishes for a happy holiday season go across the miles to all of you and yours.

First off this month, let's jump into some engagements. It seems Miss Joan W. Stromenger finally said "yes" to Lt. Loye W. Miller Jr. The prospective bride was graduated in 1952 from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in New York. She also attended Columbia University, where Loye was graduated from the Pulitzer School of Journalism. And Miss Marillyn Hug is the prospective bride of George W. Emerson. By now they may well be man and wife. Marillyn was graduated last June from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Eva Rosenbaum to I. Franklin Laskin. Ted's bride-to-be has a list of scholastic credits as long as your arm - among them, a Master's degree from Columbia, and she expects to receive a Doctorate in psychology from Yale sometime this fall, Ted has been graduated from the Yale Law School, where he was on the staff of the Law Review. Martha Tuttle and Roger Shannon have announced their intentions to wed. Martha was graduated from Wellesley and Roger is in his third year at George Washington University Medical School in Washington. We think a November wedding is planned. After serving for two years as a lieutenant in the Marine Corps in Korea, Peter Stien has become engaged to Miss Joan Schaberg. Joan was a recent grad of the Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers. Miss Anne Loeb of Upper Darby, Pa., has given the nod to Lt. BlakeIreland Jr. Blake is stationed in Charleston, S. C., Anne received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia.

Just coming upon the announcement of the marriage of Eva and Ted Laskin last October 17, we think this would be a good time to jump into the old married set. A good start would be to tell of the marriage of Paula Nelson to Bennett. Bidwell in Concord, N. H. The bride attended the University of New Hampshire, and Bennett was graduated from Babson Institute in 1952. He served with the Army for two years. The Bidwells, after a honeymoon in sunny Florida, are at home in Concord. And married in Munich, Germany, on October 23rd were Lt. and Mrs. Robert J.McGill, Mrs. McGill being the former Ursula Buchberger. Ursula attended the University of Munich for two years studying medicine. Marion Lott was married to Langdon Palmer way last June. Hope the Palmers and others will forgive us for being a little late in reporting their glad tidings. The still new Mrs. Palmer is a graduate of the New Jersey College for Women, while Langdon was discharged last October, after serving in Korea with the 45th Infantry Division. Marcia Ann Weeks and John Clayton are now Mr. and Mrs. Given away by her brother, the couple was married by the bride's father in the Epiphany Episcopal Church, Niagara Falls, N. Y. Ted Eberle, Al Karcher, Dwight Allison,Dick McFarland, and Gil Mueller stood by for the Big Green. The bride was graduated from Skidmore, and, of course, John saw his way through Tuck. After a wedding trip to the Laurentian Mountains, the Claytons are living somewhere in the vicinity of Bean Town.

We've had a bevy of newsful letters from hither and yon this month, so let's poke amongst the snowflakes and see who's there. A premature snow-flake fell down in Milwaukee on October 10, dropping on Art and RuthWarden's doorstep and taking the form of a baby girl to be known as Cynthia Allison. Congrats to Art and Ruth.

We had a big Dartmouth Night celebration here in October, and what a surprise it was to see such a strong and beer-drinking '51 gang! Among them, Dave Barker, with Prudential; newly arrived Bill Friedlander, sporting a Ph.D. in chemistry from Illinois, and now with Minnesota Mining; Howie Reed at the U in Hospital Administration; Wally Bush, now an ambulance chaser (lawyer); Dick Mc-Farland, with Kalman & Co. (stocks and bonds); Jim Rogers, a law man and now readying himself for a siege with Uncle Sam, and yours truly. If we've omitted anyone, please excuse, it's just because the beer was so good, and it was so heartening to see men of Dartmouth beat Holy Cross.

Effervescent Scott Olin '50, devil dog exNavy fire extinguisher, squirted in another mouthful of hot dope for which we are grateful. Some spy reported seeing a fine group of 'siers at Bill Mischner's wedding in Washington. Among them. Stew Biddle, John Marshall, Tom Harnett and Tiger White. Scott has seen Herb Knight in Chi-town and also reports joining Dave "Red-ant" Hilton at the lowa-Northwestern tussle recently. Another sleuth reports Sandy McDonald is sailing officer at the Academy, and Pete Robinson is instructor in seamanship. It's good to hear that some of the old caustic, potent, tongue-lashing Daily D crew is continuing in the fold of journalism. Woody Klein is bird dogging news for the Mount Vernon (N. Y.) Daily Argus. Woody finally finished up his service hitch and went to the N.B.C. Summer Institute of Radio and Television before joining the above. We wonder how many others of the Daily D staff have continued in the newspaper game - drop us a note.

Digging into the Eastern scene recently, we found Bob Pack studying for his Doctor's degree in English Lit at Columbia, while HerbRobbins is cooking up super deals at Gimbel's, as an assistant buyer, and Lt. Don Gold is studying psych at Columbia as part of his Army duty.

Back to the stork front, it was swell to hear Connie and Stu Johnson added a baby boy. The date was in April and he weighed in at 7 pounds. Mrs. Mike Choukas had just given birth to their second (a girl) and since both mothers were housed in the Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, a good time was had by all. Connie, Stu's wife, is in her third year of nursing. Stu is a teaching fellow in the Physics Department, where his time is split between teaching and working for his Master's. Stu says his door is always open to 'siers.

We have to chop things short this month so all you givers can be listed. It's a pleasure to do this, but aren't some names missing? At a time of being thankful, Dartmouth is one of the things I am most thankful for. Again a very Merry Christmas to all you great guys and your families everywhere. Fifth reunion will be June, 1957, so take heart. DAVE.
