Wherever you look nowadays there's an Assistant Class Agent to make it real simple for you to contribute to the Alumni Fund. Forty-five '42s (at last count) were adding their noble efforts to those of Head Agent Dick Lippman as the annual drive opened April 1. There are still a few of us left in the non-agent ranks, but we seem to be losing more men each year.

For the last two years Lippo has piloted us to Green Derby wins in the Alumni Fund competition among the classes. However, on both occasions our victory was won in a stirring stretch drive in the final week. At Dick's advanced age the strain of another such finish might have disastrous consequences. For a change let's jump off to a fast start and sew up the top spot in a hurry. It just means that guys like me should get that check in the mail right off the bat, instead of goofing around 'til the deadline is staring us in the face. Do it how!

Last year our quota was $7320. This year it's up 14% to $8340. Another goal is the participation of 500 '42s. All right men, go-go-go!

From the Lane Press in Burlington, Vt., comes a welcome note by Proc Page. Proc calls our attention to the promotion of PeteKrist to director of personnel and salary administration for the Railway Express Agency. Just goes to show you TV guys, people still read the newspapers.

Hank's new position is chief of site development in the marketing department.

The latest addition to the John R. TaylorJr. family is Miss Deirdre Ann. This evens the books for Bob and Mary, at two boys and two girls. Bob is in the investment business with Taylor and Company, Incorporated in Boston.

Wausau, Wis., was the scene of much rejoicing a couple of months ago when Ronand Mary Westgate had their first son. Ronald Andrew Jr., born February 13, has three sisters and an application for Dartmouth, Class of 1977. Dan Hagge and DunbarSchuetz took time off from their duties as spark plugs of the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Wausau long enough to help the proud papa with his celebration.

Jim O'Mara is a partner in an engineering and land surveying business in Hyattsville, Md. Most of their work is for housing subdivisions and the firm employs over forty men. Lois and Jim were among the lucky ones who managed to get up to Hanover for Winter Carnival a couple of months back. They stayed at the Lyme Inn and report that the food there is sensational. However, the New Hampshire road between Hanover and Lyme was in such grand shape that the commuters had to go byway of Vermont.

It was a good weekend for the Big Green teams, with Dartmouth sweeping every event. Al Britton, local lumber baron, was busy officiating at the swimming meet. For the benefit of the big city folks the word is, "You haven't lived until you've had a look at the lovely view of the Connecticut from Al's front room up on a hill in Norwich."

Further word from Hanover is that GardieBridge has been hard at work trying to help determine the selection of next fall's freshman class from more than 3000 applications. So those of you who are trying to get the boss's son into Dartmouth, just call Gardie.

In Washington, D. C., the project manager on the sixteen-million-dollar veterans' hospital construction project for the Standard Construction Company is Mai Garfink. That sixteen million makes it a pretty big deal even in Washington.

The Director of the Institute of Northern Agricultural Research located in Huntington Center, Vt., is John J. Teal Jr. Another item for our "Round the Girdled Earth department" is the report of Chet Ray serving General Motors do Brasil in Sao Paulo, Brasil, S. A. Just so we can't be accused of favoritism in Detroit here's a Ford plug: Reed O.Griffith is general manager of the Ford agency in Frost-proof, Fla.

The matrimonial info seems to have been rather limited, but Post Eddy is doing his bit. He and Miss Jeane Brown Saxer of New York were married in the Episcopal Church of St. Paul's Within the Walls; Rome.

Every once in awhile we get a request for news about a particular member of the class. If you have made such a request, please don't feel put out, if it hasn't been filled. The fact of the matter is, we put virtually all of the news we have about everyone into these pages. If you want to write to someone for more particulars and we can help by supplying the latest recorded address, just say the word. In other words, write your own letters - you'll probably have better luck with answers anyway.
