It is sad duty to report the death of DonSweet on March 9. An obituary appears in the In Memoriam section of this issue.

Tony Hanlon spoke on "Problems in Family Relations" at the February meeting of the Sacred Heart Church Holy Name Society in Pittsfield, Mass. Judge of the Berkshire County Probate Court, Tony is a member of the Administrative Committee of Probate Courts in Massachusetts.

Your scribe hopes to be present in Hanover on May 6-7 for the meeting of Alumni Class Officers and hopes to find our treasurer, class agent and bequest chairman there, also.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wason of Hamden, Conn., have announced the engagement of their daughter Sally to Mr. Loue Anthony Stockwell of Worcester. Sally is a junior at Bennington College and the prospective groom is a junior at Williams.

Another mid-March informal reunion of the class was thoroughly enjoyed by the fifteen couples that took advantage of the opportunity to spend a pleasant and restful weekend in Hanover. The cocktail party preceding dinner on Friday evening was in celebration of the 28th wedding anniversary of Carroll andNan Dwight. There was a track meet with Yale on Saturday afternoon and a hockey game between the varsity and an alumni team Saturday evening. There was shopping for the ladies and visiting here and there for the men. There was a rumor that Fran Leland was spending considerable time in Rollins Chapel. Present for the 1955 gathering were Carter and Allie Hoyt, Haskell and Harriet Cohn, Bob and Alma Hight, Fran and Lucy Leland Stan and Catherine Miner, Harvey and Cay Moses, Walt and Doris Sands, Bill and Odie Lee Bullen, Frank and Betty Horan, Paul and Elizabeth Peters, Carroll and Nan Dwight, Dick and Dot Stetson, Bob and Grace Clark! Olie and Elspeth Olsen, Bob and Lois Booth] And there were progenies liberally sprinkled about, to wit, Susan Hight Denny, Nancy Hoyt, Kithy Miner, Wick Moses, Frank '58, Bob and Sylvia Sands, Sievers Peters '54 (alumni hockey team), Peter '54 and Susan Dwight, Alexander Clark '55, Tom '54 and Alan Booth '56.

From Frank Horan it was learned that he and Betty rattle around in their apartment- while the children are all away at schoolLibby at Abbott Academy, Johnny and Tony at St. Paul's School.

The latter part of February was spent by Ted and Beth Robie on a Caribbean cruise. When advising of that, Ted reported with pride that they are grandparents and that the 2-year-old grandson is a likely candidate for Dartmouth '74. A prominent doctor in the field of psychiatry, Ted is the author of "Minimal Electrostimulation Therapy for Barbituate Poisoning," a paper presented at a meeting of the Electroshock Research Association, and of "Safe Electric Treatment of Melancholia," an article appearing in the February issue of the Journal of the Medical Society ofNew Jersey.

Haskell Cohn performed masterfully as presiding officer at the Boston kick-off dinner of the 1955 Alumni Fund on March 29. Present to lend him moral support, to represent the class and to absorb inspiration for the job ahead were Len Morrissey, Ray Atwood, Elmer Ardiff and your secretary.

To be a part of something so large and so vitally important as the Alumni Fund is a privilege not to be taken lightly. As a class, we have the opportunity to be an increasingly important factor in the annual campaigns. We have only to raise our individual sights. JimHamilton and his corps of assistants are on the march. Please respond promptly and generously to their appeals. Procrastination on your part just means more work for them.
