This month, as in years past, this issue contains the names of the contributors to the 1957 Alumni Fund. Just as the total amount given is greater than ever before, the total number of givers is greater. Likewise, we can be justifiably proud of '29's record the highest ever - and our thanks are sincerely extended to John Moxon and his agents for the vital part they played. Accordingly, as space in the MAGAZINE is clearly limited, we are restricting the Class Notes so that the list of contributors may be printed in full.
The Annual Meeting of the Executive Committee and Class Officers and to which were invited, as usual, the chairmen of other past and present committees of the class and their assistants, was held at The Dartmouth College Club of New York on Friday evening, November 1. Those present were: Andres, Babcock, Ball, Barrett, Barto, Blair, Born, Brittan, J. B. Cook, Enders, Fisher, Gunther, Ingram, Jamieson, Lougee, Magenau, Mayher, Redding and Robin. Among other things, it was voted that John Moxon should continue as Class Agent for another year and that the 100% Class Subscription Plan for the MAGAZINE should be continued for another year.
Although a little late in time, but still news to many of us, is Herb and Joan Ball's announcement of the birth of Craig Douglas on September 1 at the Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.
Mort Jaquith also sends us a contribution to the record of class vital statistics, although slightly different, in that he has advised that he and Peg have been made grandparents a second time, this time by the arrival of a granddaughter, Susan Cashman LeSueur, on September 13, born to Mary (Jaquith) and Harvey LeSueur who have now taken up residence in Peoria, Ill., where, after two years with the Sea Bees, he has joined Caterpillar Tractor.
We were extremely sorry to hear that Clint Hoose, former Major in the Regular Army has, since a lawn mower accident last year, suffered the loss of first a foot and subsequently a leg. He has been confined to Walter Reed Hospital during most of this past year and has recently received medical retirement for disability. Clint is living at 5401 Kirkwood Drive, Washington 16.
It is also with the greatest of regrets that we report the death of Robert MacMurray on October 29. Further details will be given in next month's In Memoriam section.
