Fitzhugh Smith Rollins Jr. (alias "Punch"), when he died in 1947 left three sons - Eugene, Fitzhugh Jr., and Alfred. The second of these, known as "Gene," died on February 4 after a long illness. His mother, now Mrs. Irving Read, writes - "I feel reconciled to it now — he could never have recovered and his suffering was terrible. Now he is at rest and with God." Mrs. Read is still living at the Rollins home, 1818 Union St., Alameda, Calif.

Four men of our Class were born in 1867. The first of these to go was Bob Penniman, in 1940. Next was Gibbon, last September. The oldest of these was Herman Lovejoy whose death was recorded in the last issue. "King" Cassin is still with us and we plan to celebrate his 90th birthday at the Fall Roundup, October 2.

Herman Lovejoy found it possible to attend only two Class reunions, the 20th and the 40th. However, in later years the secretary was able to keep in close touch with him by making New Haven a stopover place between New York and Boston. Herman was always avid for the latest words about his classmates and it was evident from his conversation and the contents of his study that he was living an interesting and rewarding life. His daughter, Mrs. Robert Beattie, has written the following about his last hours:

"At 3 a.m. on the morning of February 7 he breathed his last. His nurse and I were with him and in his last moments he called for more air. The casement window of his room was opened a small space - the weather being very cold - and the north wind howled. He breathed the good air - smiled - and just slipped quietly into the great beyond with 'The Hill Winds in his breath'."

Ninety-four had sixteen teachers - Spooner,Hardy, Brown, Ham, Barton, Phillips, Harris,McGroty, Lovejoy, Read, Jenks, Matthews,Bushee, Grover, Wallis and Taylor. Of theseGrover and Bushee are living.
