Certainly the most successful spring team in recent years has been the Dartmouth golf team which over the past five years, under the able tutelage of Tom Keane, has won 70 matches while losing only 20 and tying one match.

This spring the Dartmouth golfers have started off well, as usual, posting a 4-1 record on their spring tour. They defeated Quantico twice and then dropped both Richmond and Johns Hopkins before being edged by a powerful Navy team at Annapolis 4-3.

Seven juniors form the nucleus of the 1957. team, led by Captain Bruce McDonald and letterman Rod Frates and Harvey Bloom. Hank Milton, Buck Latimore, Steve Jonas and Chap Jacobus are the other top members of the team.

Although he has a well-balanced squad, which should win most of its matches, Coach Keane does not have the top-notch individual stars of a few years ago.
