I am satisfied that the space age has hit old '98. Telephones are out of commission, telegraph lines are down, the mail does not come through, and the breaking of the sound barrier has caused all of you to disregard my entreaties for news. Anyway, it allows me to save on ink and the MAGAZINE has more space to devote to others.

Fred Lord notified me of the death of "Archie" Kendall. See "In Memoriam."

Nothing direct from John Eckstrom, but through the Grapevine I learn he is well and busy, in fact, so busy that he cannot find time to write.

You asked for it. How do you like such a brief report? You can expect more of the same until each and every one of you come out of your comatose condition and furnish me with some material.
