Cleveland Alumni Association is extremely proud of the record of Shaker Heights High School and the seven boys from that school who, as freshmen, have won a plaque for maintaining the highest average of any group of four boys or over from any high school in the country. The plaque was presented by Warren Crumbine '37, chairman of the Cleveland Enrollment and Schools Committee. This same school missed winning this award last year by a fraction of one percent. We are all proud of these fine representatives from the Cleveland Area.
Our annual Tea Dance was held October 4, one of Cleveland's nicest fall days. The scene was the Hunt Club in Chagrin Falls. Two-hundred Dartmouth couples and friends turned out for the gay affair. The dance was under the chairmanship of Bill Chilcote '43 and Dick Lezius '47. A high point of the evening was the singing of the "Sleepless Knights," Cleveland's only ten-man octet. Don Daniels '50 and Jim Farmer '50 are members of this group which rendered three or four Dartmouth songs to a most appreciative audience. In all ways this was one of our most successful annual functions and a favorite way to bring loyal Dartmouth men together.
