The wrestling team got back on the winning track by thumping McGill University, 33-8, in the second match of the year and then defeating the University of Massachusetts, 24-10, for a record of three wins and two losses. Captain Fred Pitzner at 167 pounds and Bob Bickell at 177 remained undefeated as they both won handily over their Massachusetts opponents. Jim Sniderman, 137-pounder, John Chilson at 147 and Duncan Lanum in the heavyweight division were other Dartmouth winners. Matches with M.l.T., Springfield and Brown remain on the slate.

On the freshman level, the '61 basketball team avenged an earlier defeat fay Holy Cross as it rolled over the Crusaders, 81-56, for a record to date of six wins and two defeats. Forward Dan Berry is top scorer, averaging 18 points per game.

The freshman hockey team also has an impressive 7-2 record with a fine first team of Captain Bob Moore, Jake Haertl and Chuck Ritchie on the line, Rog Hartley and Bob Fuller on defense, and Bob Naegele at goal.

Dartmouth's freshman swimming team is currently undefeated with five straight wins, including a close 43-42 victory over Harvard. Captain Charlie Brown, a freestyle ace, currently leads the '61 swimmers in scoring.

A better-than-average freshman track team has losses to Boston University and Harvard and a recent win over Columbia. Bill Zeilman tied the freshman 50-yard dash record in Alumni Gym with a clocking of 0:5.6, while Norm Page in the high jump and Dick Husband in the broad jump are both outstanding.

The freshman squash team has been meeting stiff opposition and has lost four in a row to Andover, Harvard, Exeter and Yale. Ron Picket is currently playing number one for the Indians.
