Praise for The Players

It is most agreeable to report that the second annual Undergraduate Drama Festival staged by the Yale Dramat in New Haven last weekend was extremely rewarding.... The Dartmouth Players' presentation of "Waiting for Godot" was a complete masterpiece.... It was heartening in itself to find a play of this scope in a college drama festival. But what I think was more unexpected even was the stunning presentation by the Dartmouth Players. The vividness, invention and eloquence of the direction and playing were absolutely masterly. As this piece is not intended as a review, I shall not go into details or credits. I just want to say for my own part that 25 years of professional theatergoing can make you feel rather dispirited about the state of the stage. But when something like this Dartmouth presentation comes along, faith and joy are reborn.
