Team captains elected but not previously reported include John R. Horan '59 of New York as captain of the squash team, John H. Chilson '59 of Loveland, Colo., as captain of the wrestling team and Richard Taylor '59 of Laconia, N. H., as captain of the varsity ski team. Horan was ranked third on the squash team last winter and won seven of twelve matches. Chilson, who wrestled in the 147-pound division, won five of his seven matches and was a former Northern Conference High School champion in that division. Taylor, a cross-country and jumping specialist, captained the Dartmouth freshman ski team three years ago. Elected as cocaptains of the Dartmouth freshman ski team were Art Bookstrom and Jim DeLong.

Speaking of skiing, the annual Dartmouth-Harvard slalom was held on the Little Headwall at Tuckerman's Ravine in late April, with the Big Green dominating the race. Pete Caldwell '54 came in first with Bill Smith, last winter's varsity ski team co-captain, second and Art Bookstrom third.

The annual Wet Down ceremonies, held on campus during the Green Key weekend, were dominated largely by athletic awards. Dartmouth's stellar football captain, Joe Palermo, won both TheDartmouth Cup and the Alfred E. Watson Award as outstanding athlete. The Norman Grant Clark Soccer Trophy went to Randy Malin '59, standout goal tender. Richard H. Chase Jr. '60 took the annual Alumni Lacrosse Award, while the James Henry Cook Baseball Trophy went to Captain John E. Otis '58. Allen E. Pitzner '58 received the Wrestling Award, while the recently established Thaddeus Seymour Rowing Cup was won by Raymond L. Hilsinger '58. Hockey star Dave Chapin '58 won the Timothy Wright Ellis Trophy and shared the Robert C. Mulhern Hockey Trophy with Donald R. Thomas '58. The Kenneth Archibald Trophy went to James F. Riffle '58.

For the second straight year Dartmouth placed second to Paul Smith's College in the annual Woodsmen's Weekend which was held in mid-May at the University of Maine. Coached by Ross McKenney, the Dartmouth woodsmen came close to winning, but lost valuable points in cross-cut sawing and buck sawing and this cost them the victory. Ten college and secondary school teams competed in the two-day affair.
