The many of us with children in school would undoubtedly have fewer problems on the subject of what our Suzy or Joe should study, if we lived in Cheshire, Conn. There Alan Boerker is Guidance Director of the Cheshire High School. Al has the tough job of directing the teen-age mind academically and vocationally. Sometimes that also means directing the parents; a tenuous middleman role for the good of Suzy and Joe. Al, who lives at 1136 Peck Lane in Cheshire, took his Master's at Hillyer College in Hartford with postgraduate work in Education at Harvard and Connecticut University.
Charlie Tesreau, the Big First Baseman and son of the late, great Jeff, was feted at the Hanover Inn in January for the outstanding job he performed as Grafton County Solicitor. Charlie was honored at a dinner given by the Grafton County Law Enforcement Officers Association. Top New Hampshire law enforcement officials including ex-Governor Lane Dwinell were on hand for the occasion. Charlie, who has made a success on his own home grounds, served as county prosecutor from 1953. He did not run for re-election. A graduate of Catholic University School of Law in 1941, he served with the Marines in World War II, and for a short time went with the F. B.I. He is a member of the lawfirm of Cotton, Tesreau and Stebbins in Lebanon.

Roy Block, ex-Barbary Coaster, is a Vice President of Grey Advertising Agency. He recently made "Advertising Age" columns on an outstanding merchandising campaign he is undertaking with one of his big accounts, Radio Corporation of America. - Gorman, Mattimore, Schaeffer, "me" —watch out! These musicians will out-toot us.
Dan Marshall must have noticed the lack of December notes. In fine fashion, he followed through from San Antonio to report that Jack Scarborough is doing a great job as prexy of Scarborough & Sons, Austin's leading department store. He also mentioned George Zeluff, another ex-Barbary Coaster, who is a Houston physician specializing in internal medicine, and Lou Moorman who is Mr. Southwest for Dartmouth in the Capital Gifts Campaign.
Speaking of Capital Gifts, Gil Tanis is playing part as a national salesman for the campaign. (Still time to help on this big one, fellows.)
Any joy and humor for the Class this month is tempered by news of three Class deaths. Howard C. Van Riper of Baltimore died suddenly while visiting Norfolk, Va., on January 4. Lorin C. Schneider succumbed January 23 in Manchester, N. H., and Sawyer Rank, a non-graduate, died in St. Paul, Minn., May 22, 1958.
