The Association of the Great Divide has experienced an active winter season. On December 20, 1958, our annual Christmas luncheon was held at the Albany Hotel. Robert P. Fullerton '52, national Enrollment Chairman, handled the arrangements for the affair. Over 185 alums, undergraduates, prospects and fathers were in attendance, and it was generally felt that this luncheon was one of the finest in our Club's history. As is the usual custom, an undergraduate in each of the classes was asked to give a short talk. Gary Crellin represented the Freshmen, Jim Gilchrist the Sophomores, Bruce Thornton the Juniors and Tom Seawell the Seniors. As an example of the high quality of these talks, the one given by Tom Seawell was published in the February issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. Later that same day our annual cocktail party was held at The University Club. As usual, this event was well received and attended.

Entertainment Chairman, Sky Grey '54, has continued to furnish us with a fine supply of guest speakers for our monthly luncheons. In December our own Ned Grant '30 gave us a few insights into the running of the National Western Stock Show. Ned has managed the horse show section of the National Western for the past several years, and his talk was timely and very interesting.

In January Art Kiendl '44, new Dean of Students at the University of Colorado, and former Dartmouth assistant Dean, gave us his impressions of his new duties. His comments were entertaining and well received by the sizable group that turned out to hear him.

Our February meeting was graced by three Columbia alumni. Lucius Woods '43 gave us some insight into the Columbia enrollment system (archaic as it is); Clyde Hampton '47 outlined the athletic program (or lack thereof) of our sister institution; and Hamlet Barry '38 made several remarks of a disparaging nature directed at Dartmouth in general and our alumni group in particular. Despite the rather questionable educational background of these three guests and the good natured ribbing they handed out, we enjoyed their visit very much.
