Secretary of the Year
JUNE 1959

Philip K. Murdock '15 was honored as the Dartmouth Class Secretary of the Year at the annual dinner of class officers in Hanover, May 1. In presenting him a framed drawing of Dartmouth Hall, Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College, read the following citation:

During the 44 years since leaving Hanover the Class of 1915 has made superlatively good records in all activities carried on for the benefit of the College. In respect to very tangible contributions, your class has a lifetime total of gifts of $1,772,432. This is far and away the largest total of any class in the alumni body. In the current Capital Gifts Campaign, the Class of '15 leads all classes with a total of $835,000.

It is important for all alumni to receive the ALUMNI MAGAZINE every month. This objective has been achieved by the Class of '15 which has a circulation through its group plan of 100% across the board — to all graduates and non-graduates.

Phil, you are a model class secretary. Your class notes reach the ALUMNI MAGAZINE on or before the deadline of the 5th of every month. As secretary since 1952, you carry on extensive correspondence with your men and your solicitous attention to the surviving families of deceased classmates is deeply appreciated.

You give your important Dartmouth job the kind of attention that you have always given to your successful business career. We are pleased and proud to honor you as Dartmouth Class Secretary of the Year.
