The Robert C. Strong Memorial Crafts Building, headquarters of the Hanover group of the League of New Hampshire Arts and Crafts, was formally opened on November 4 as a memorial to Bob Strong '24, dean of freshmen and director of admissions, who died in 1946.

The modern building bearing Bob Strong's name is located on Lebanon Street, directly across from the Hopkins Center. It includes not only a large area for the display and sale of handmade products but also work rooms where the Hanover group conducts its classes and creative activities. Bob Strong was vicepresident of the Hanover branch for several terms and for five years was president of the statewide League. He was interested in woodworking, and at the November 4 open house some of his work was on exhibition. His memorial in Hanover is one of the finest and most modern crafts units in New England.
