We regret to advise that Clyde H. "Mike" Norton was killed on Thursday, Thanksgiving evening, November 26, when he was struck by a car on Ryan's Hill not far from his home in Derry, N. H. Mike lived alone but one of his neighbors called Ben Adams to come over and take care of Mike's house. The Class was represented by Ben and Mrs. Adams, Chris and Lyme Armes and Henry Bailey Stevens at the funeral services held under the auspices of the Derry, N. H., American Legion Post.

Margaret and Bill Middlebrook are in Korea for an extended stay. Bill in partnership with Dr. George D. Stoddard, former President of Illinois University now Dean of Education at New York University, is conducting a study of higher education in Korea with a couple of months out to do some work at the University of the Philippines. His present address is USOM (Minn) APO 301, San Francisco, Calif.

After spending seven to eight weeks in a hospital bed Henry Van Dyne is back at his Tree Top Lodge and recuperating just fine. Although he is unable to drive his car as yet he is gaining ground right along and hopes to resume full activity soon. Best of luck, Van, we are certainly counting on you at our informal reunion this June.

Thanks to Horace "Cap" Allen we received the following invitation: "The honour of your presence is requested at the marriage of Mrs. Edith Brebner to Mr. Lewis Clement Waterbury on Monday the twenty-eighth of December, 1959, at half after four o'clock, Union Congregational Church, Green Bay, Wisconsin." Dutch's son Holden Nelson Waterbury '43 was best man and Nelson Doe was there for the Class who are pleased to extend best wishes for their happiness at this time.

"Cap" Allen beat the gun on Dutch's wedding by a month, but cheer up "Cap," better early than never, and that's a hint for those in the deep South and the far West we haven't heard from lately.

Change of address: Lyman H. Armes, 12 Bedford St., Lexington, Mass.; Harold G. Mosier, The Towers, 4201 Cathedral Ave., N.W., Washington 16, D. C.; James A. Steen, 93 Longview St., West Orange, N. J.; Elmer J. Bloom, 415 West Crestwood Drive, Peoria, Ill.; Perley J. Roberts, 119 Leonard St., Belmont 78, Mass.; Nathaniel M. Whitmore, 32 Linn Ave., Auburn, N. Y.

The Middleboro, Mass., Gazette reported that Attorney Fletcher Clark Jr., first commander of the Simeon L. Nickerson Post, the American Legion, wearing the Silver Star for World War I action, again led the Veterans' Day parade as their Marshal. He has been parade marshal on November 11 almost continuously since the post took over the parades in the early 20's and his addresses from the Town Hall balcony at the conclusion of the parades have been simple and eloquent.

Your Secretary was pleased to receive and happy to pass along to the Class for 1960 the best wishes of "Sam" Hobbs from distant Arcadia, Calif.

A card from Barbara and Bud Hoban advises that they are all settled down in their new home in Hollywood, Fla., and looking for any 1912'ers passing thru; Ruth and JimWorton are there, so are the Ken Fosters. Apply to William H. Locke, Hollywood, Inc. for a look at his latest 1912 Florida Directory.

Ann and Dean R. "Husky" Demerritt had a wonderful time visiting Mexico City this past fall, missed Dick McAllaster '14 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; visited Ann's citrus grove in the Rio Grande Valley and visited some old time friends in the Army in Shreveport on their way back home to Tulsa, Okla.

During the past Christmas season Edward B. Luitwieler and H. Lyman Armes were the recipients of engraved gold watches from Dick Remsen and Alvie Garcia, acting in behalf of the Class, as a token of our deep appreciation of their tireless efforts and invaluable service to all their classmates in 191 a. The inscription on the back of these watches reads as follows, "To Our Esteemed Classmate, H. Lyman Armes (Edward B. Luitwieler) in Appreciation for his Loyal Services to Dartmouth and the Class of 1912. 12/25/59 From his Classmates."

As Eddie expressed it in a letter to Dick, "How am I ever to thank those loyal Dartmouth friends who have made it possible for me to do a job? I now have a job to repay all of you for the friendship and trust given to me." And Lyme in a letter to Alvie, "That blessed Hamilton tells time beautifully, of course, but the back of it tells me more than my tongue can tell, I wish I could lay hands on you tonight and every other old pal involved."

We regret to advise that at the time Lyme received his watch Chris was in the Symmes Arlington Hospital nearby recuperating from a serious operation and we sincerely hope her recovery will be rapid and complete.
