Ham Radio's Revival
A STRONG boost to WIET, the Dartmouth Amateur Radio Station, has been received through the gift of a Collins KMWI transmitter from Mr. William Schweitzer of New York City. This and some expressions of alumni interest in student efforts to revive "ham radio" on the campus have given encouragement to the members of WIET, who have recently organized and elected officers.
Freeman Ford '63 of Pebble Beach, Calif., is president; George R. Whitehead '61 of Nashua, N.H., vice president; and Stephen B.W. Roeder '61 of Madison, Wis., secretary-treasurer. Ford, at 103E Little Hall, will be glad to hear from interested alumni. In the December issue the ALUMNI MAGAZINE did not contribute to this hoped-for exchange when it gave the station leader's last name as Lord instead of Ford.
