Bob Danziger reports the establishment of an annual award presented in memory of the late John Barnett by the Kappa Sigma Class of 1956 to the senior member of the house who most nearly exemplifies Slim's outstanding qualities. Don Wesson '61 was the first, well-deserving recipient.
Most of the class contributed to the recent Alumni Fund Drive. On August 15, Tom mailed to the entire class a report of the total raised and the work of our 46 class agents. In early September, Jim Flynn mailed an announcement of the class dues program. The funds raised will renew our subscription as a class to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. In addition, our class funds have made possible the purchase of books in Baker in memory of Barnett and WhitJenkins and helped support our 1960 reunion. Our administrative expenses have been small. The College picks up the tab for the newsletter and most of the mailings. Jim's letter gives the details. Finally, RussBrace returned from his honeymoon and has planned a class executive committee meeting for the morning of the Dartmouth-Brown football game in Hanover, October 14.
