With the usual efficiency and lack of heated debate which annually characterizes this event, Club officers were elected in February for the ensuing year at the weekly Wednesday luncheon meeting at Kaufmanns. The new slate includes John Bird '43, President; Chuck Queenan '52, Treasurer; and Foster L. Aborn '56, Secretary.
Late in March President Dickey spoke in Pittsburgh at the President's Dinner held at the Jones and Laughlin dining room in Gateway Center. John Dodd '22 also spoke on the importance of this year's Alumni Fund Drive of which he is chairman. Attended by close to ninety alumni and their wives, this annual dinner had one of the best crowds in recent years. Aiding Club officers in the arrangements were GusAberle '55, Jack Welsh '55, and Bill Duvall '57.
Wayne Komara '53, who is constantly active in enrollment work in the Pittsburgh area, had his efforts rewarded when he presented Mt. Lebanon High School with the Dartmouth Plaque. This award is given annually to the secondary school whose graduates (four or more) maintain the highest scholastic average as freshmen.
Other recent Club activities include the Annual Ivy League Golf Match, held late in July at the South Hills Country Club. Under the guidance of Nate Parker Jr. '52, Dartmouth's entry finished a strong sixth. Late in August Gus Aberle '55 ran one of the Club's most successful picnics. About forty-five alumni, wives, and children attended the affair, which was held near Greensburg, Penna.
