Well, I've been holding my breath and waiting for someone to write to me about John Doyle, who I am seeing on TV on a regular basis in a Pontiac commercial! That I have not heard a peep from anyone is amazing. I did receive news through the grape vine that Laura Broughton has completed a Ph.D. in ecology from Michigan State University in December 2001. Laura has since moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in microbial biology with the National Science Foundation. Laura will be studying the effects of climate change on the relationships between the soil microbial community and the plant community in the Arctic tundra. She will be working from Woods Hole, Massachusetts, in the Ecosystems Center at the Marine Biological Laboratory for 10 months of the year. She'll spend June, July and August doing field work at a remote field station on the north slope of Alaska.
My other news is from Kevin Lapin, who wrote to me from Paris, where he is having an "amazing" time attending the Lecoq Theatre School. Kevin gave me news about Chris Ferry, who is presently living and working as an actor in New York City. And Kevin says that Bo Brustkern and his wife, Amy, recently had a baby.
Why, yes, you've come to the end of the Class Notes. And, yes, this Class Notes was frighteningly short. I hope that pang in your gut will spur you to write to me.
