Grand Rapids

The Western Michigan Alumni Club of Dartmouth College held its fall meeting on November 10 at the Peninsular Club in Grand Rapids. This was a dinner meeting and we were very encouraged by a turn-out of about forty alumni from the Western part of the State of Michigan.

In addition, we were very fortunate to have Ed Chamberlain '36, Director of Admissions, as our guest speaker. Ed brought us up-to-date on the many new changes on the Hanover scene and it marked the first time in many a moon that Western Michigan has been lucky enough to get a representative from the college with such an intimate knowledge of current events at Dartmouth. Jim Wendell '34, introduced Ed. Jim has been the guiding light as area alumni representative for the Office of Admissions for quite some time throughout this part of the State. Jack Wall '52, John Wardrop '59 and President Will Wolfe '51 were in charge of organizing the meeting and making sure that Ed got in and out of town on schedule.

We are looking forward to our annual spring meeting which we hope to have in the Lansing area.
