This was the year for the Dartmouth Glee Club's semi-annual visit to Hartford, and the 1963 Concert was held March 20 at the Duffy School, where the Club sang to an enthusiastic audience of Dartmouth's graduates, wives, and friends. Chairman for this affair was Dick Watson '59, a past-president of the Glee Club.

The annual Yale-Dartmouth Rugby Match played for the "Hartford Cup" is rapidly turning into a well-established local institution. This year's encounter (the fourth in this series) was held, as usual, at the Farmington Valley Polo Grounds and was at- tended by nearly 1400 spectators of assorted ages and sizes. Now virtually an integral part of the local tradition, the 53rd Stuart Highlanders Bagpipe Band was again on hand for added color - and sound. Popular with Hartford and New Haven sports writers, the game received excellent coverage in the papers ]of both cities. One well-known writer described the event (in part) as, ". . . probably the biggest all-day tailgate picnic ever held in Connecticut." Only cloud in an otherwise perfect sky was the score; Yale won 8 to 5, but only after an exceptionally hardplayed game. However, score for the fourgame series is: Dartmouth three, Yale one. Captain for the Yale "side" was Roger Flannery, while Tom Rucker '63 led the Green. Chairman for this highly successful event was Ted Rice '52, backed by an efficient crew of volunteer assistants.

Wind-up event for the season was our annual meeting held Tuesday, May 28 at the University Club of Hartford. Featured speaker was George Colton '35, the College's Director of Development, who spoke on "Plant, People and Progress at Dartmouth." The new slate of officers elected for the 1963-64 season includes: President, DickPage '54; Vice President, Sherry Marchant'SO, Vice President, Ted Rice '52; Secretary, Dick Watson '59, Assistant to the Secretary, Brint Schorer '36, and Treasurer, Ray Woolson '55.
